Rabbits are prone to various illnesses and health issues, such as overgrown teeth, hairballs, parasites, and cancer. They also have a tendency to conceal their discomfort or illness.
Reach out to us if your rabbit:
– Exhibits discharge from the eyes or nose, has diarrhea, or shows signs of a gurgling stomach
– Displays an elevated or decreased body temperature
– Starts drooling, scratching its ears, or sneezing
– Shows signs of head tilting
– Develops bald spots in its fur
– Stops eating, seems more subdued than usual, or exhibits any unusual behavior
Additionally, regular dental check-ups can be very beneficial for your rabbit. We can assist in ensuring that dental issues do not escalate into serious, life-threatening conditions.
We also highly recommend spaying or neutering your rabbit. Not only can rabbits reproduce as frequently as once a month with litters of up to 14 babies, but even single rabbits can benefit from the procedure. Spaying or neutering can help protect your rabbit from various types of cancer and mitigate aggressive behaviors, as well as other undesirable habits like spraying, mounting, destructive chewing, and biting. It’s important to note that these procedures will not alter your rabbit’s personality.
If you have any inquiries regarding rabbit care, we are here to discuss aspects such as diet, housing, grooming, and even litterbox training.
