Hear From Our Pet Parents

“ Highly recommend..."

The new Murieta Pet Hospital is open, and I took my dog there this week for a Covid-overdue checkup. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The vet was meticulous in his exam, and explained their SOPs very well. I am impressed with their professionalism and their care of my furry guy. I highly recommend!

“Our first visit and it was great!"

Our first visit and it was great! Everyone was so kind. Dr. P was amazing with our Bentley. He was loving, kind and thorough. So glad they’re here!

“ Exceptional service and care...

I cannot recommend Dr.Sam and his staff more than I already do. They’re all so amazing. I don’t trust too many people with my dog Beau and Beau doesn’t love many people. Going here, he gets along with all the staff and they truly do feel like family. I can really feel the love they all have for their job. Beau and I leave happy every time we see the vet. Thank you Dr. Sam and staff!!

"Dr. Pietro resolved the issue within the hour.."

We were not clients of Murieta Pet Hospital at the time of our pet’s unexpected and numerous vomiting episodes of blood, etc.early one morning this week. We called MPH and left a message at 7:00AM and rec’d a call back shortly saying we could bring Henry in at 9:30AM. Dr. Pietro resolved the issue within the hour. The charges were reasonable, the advice and care excellent and the convenience of the location in RM outstanding. Most of all, we appreciated the prompt response, the kindness from the front office, Dr P. himself and, of course, the outcome.

Why May Your Pet Need Orthopedic Surgery?

If your dog has an issue with their musculoskeletal system, which includes their bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons, and cartilage, you may collaborate with your veterinarian and try various treatment options, including orthopedic surgery. This procedure can help promote healing after an injury, relieve pain, and restore mobility and function. Some common issues that may require orthopedic surgery include the following:

  • Ligament tear: If a dog tears a ligament, like their cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), which is similar to a torn ACL in humans, they may require orthopedic surgery to restore mobility in the area and alleviate pain.
  • Broken bone: Orthopedic surgery can help set and hold broken bones in the right places to ensure they heal properly.
  • Hip or elbow dysplasia: Hip and elbow dysplasia are hereditary conditions that cause the joints to loosen, leading to pain and damage to the bones and cartilage. We may repair, realign, or replace the joint with orthopedic surgery.
  • Patella luxation: Everyday movements or minor accidents can cause your pet’s patella, also called the kneecap, to shift out of place. If this issue causes pain and limited mobility, orthopedic surgery can put the patella back in place by deepening the groove where it sits and tightening the joint that holds it in place.
  • Osteoarthritis: This degenerative joint condition occurs when cartilage in the joints breaks down, causing bone to rub together, which can be painful and decrease mobility. Orthopedic surgery can remove damaged tissue or replace the joint in severe cases.

At Murieta Veterinary Hospital, we understand getting your dog surgery can be overwhelming, so we work closely with you every step of the way, explaining the preparation, procedure, and recovery process. With this collaboration and our team, who treats your pet like our own, you can have peace of mind that your companion is in the right hands.
