  • Dr. Tyler Baum Veterinarian

Dr. Tyler Baum is a two-time graduate of the University of California, Davis. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Psychology, followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He has special interests in avian and exotic animal medicine.

While Dr. Baum enjoys seeing cats and dogs, his greatest passion is caring for pets that are a bit smaller or more unique. Some of his favorite patients include guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, exotic birds, reptiles, and even the occasional chicken.

Working with animals has always been one of Dr. Baum’s greatest passions. He has carried that love for animals into volunteer work abroad, supporting communities in need and participating in wildlife conservation efforts in several countries, including Nicaragua and South Africa.

When he is not caring for Sacramento’s animals, Dr. Baum can often be found at home with his wife, Andrea, and their three cats, Toast, Butters, and Dr. Professor Stripey Pants. He also enjoys wine tasting throughout Northern California, hiking, exploring nature, and working on his photography, some of which can be seen throughout the hospital.
